FITCHIC OF THE WEEK: LIZ WOODS

Liz is a retired veteran, wife, mother, and grandmother. She currently resides right here in Killeen, with me! She currently works as a license massage therapist!!!! You can schedule an appoitment with her at Massage Envy-Harker Heights!

Sooo I met Liz back in 2017 at the boot. She scheduled a consult, came in and I know we chatted for a legit hour maybe longer. Next thing I know it was like magic, she started transforming right before my eyes. She seldom missed a bootcamp. She completed flatbelly round on. Then she agreed to be one of my accountability coaches for the next few rounds. She also did round one and two of my build and lean program. I know yall are tired of hearing this, but dedication and staying discplined when it comes to your nutrition is key to being a LEGIT# FITCHIC!!!! The #fitchic life has not always been easy for Liz, but she's making it work one day at a time, and inspiring the #fitchic nation while doing so!!! Woot woot! I love you, Liz thanks for being this weeks #Fitchic!!!!

Starting #Fitchic Weight: 242

Current Weight: 188

When did you start your #fitchic journey?

"I walked into UKB in July 2017. I had just had Gastric Sleeve Surgery in April 2017. I had been through so many weightloss programs/trainers. I struggled with my weight my whole military career (23+ years). In Oct 2016, I was at my highest weight (299.9) and lowest point. I went into a severe depression for about 2 weeks and finally went to the doctor's for help. When she suggested weightloss surgery, I jumped at the chance to finally get my life and health together. I was so broken when I sat down with Amber. I had other trainers that made me feel like all I was to them was a number or the money I paid. Amber listened to me. I told her about my surgery, what I could eat and I what I couldn't. She tailored a meal plan to help me, and pushed me past my comfort zone while working out. People think that weightloss surgery is the easy way out. Nothing about it was easy. I still had to work hard, I had to learn what to eat and how to eat to continue losing weight. The first year is the surgery, after that it's on you to continue. It is possible to regain the weight you lost if you go back to your crappy habits. I do not want to be that one!"

What is your "WHY"?

"I was exhausted being so overweight. I have always given and done for so many and forgot to take care of myself. My health, my life became important and my number one focus. If I didn't fight for me, no one else was going to. My why is my need to be here on this earth for a long time."

How would you define a #fitchic?

"A fitchic is a virtuous woman. She is one that will never give up. I CAN'T, is not in our vocabulary. A fitchic is a woman that not only smashes her goals, but she reaches back and pulls someone along with her. Being a fitchic isn't just a title, it is a everyday lifestyle."

(PREACH LIZ PREACH!! HEY, HEY, I FELT THAT THANG IN MY FITCHIC SPIRIT! I JUST GOT UP FROM MY LAPTOP AND RAN A LAP! THANK YAAA!!!! -AMBER)

What is the best part about being an In Awe #Fitchic?

"The best part of being a fitchic is the sisterhood. I have become a part of a brand new group of ladies that I love and admire and look forward to being around. My journey like others hasn't been easy, I was a mess when I came to Amber. From time to time that mess still creeps in. I just know, with Amber's help, how to deal with it a lot better than I have in the past.”

What is the most challenging part about being an In Awe #Fitchic?

"Ugh, Sleep. I am a night owl and trying to get the recommended time that Amber says we should get has been the most challenging thing for me. I am still a work in progress."(6 hours, is the minimum that I strongly recommend for my #fitchics. I sleep a legit 8 every night. When you sleep it allows the body to rest, recover, and thank you with weight loss. But noooo we like to over work our bodies, stress it out, then we deprive it of sleep or plain ole rest for that matter. Theeeen we have the audacity to get pissed when we get on the scale after 2.3 hours of sleep and see that it has went up!!! Come on now thats not how this #fitchic life works!!! We have got to be selfish and get 6 hours of sleep/rest daily -Amber)

Why do you continue to choose In Awe Fitness programs over all others?

"The number one reason is because they work. When you see all bodies and lives that have been changed my Amber's programs, how could you not want to rock with one of the best trainers in Killeen, TX. The cost isn't even an issue because how much is your health worth? Mine was worth a lot more than what Amber charges. For what she offers, her programs are very reasonable."

Do you have any advice to share with new #fitchics or #fitchics who are struggling to maintain the lifestyle?

“You don't have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great!! (Zig Ziglar) Everyday isn't going to be rainbows and unicorns, but know that you have woman going through the same struggles. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Follow the plan and if it ain't on Amber's meal plan....DON"T EAT IT!!!!

What's in Liz's gym bag!!! Water jug, gym towel, abs of steel and waist trainer.

Thanks for taking a moment out of your day to read this post! I appreciate your support and love! Be sure to leave Liz some motivation below!!
